Posted: April 20, 2009 - WSOPP is anticipating the second return of the proposed Parity bill from the state drafters office by the end of May 2009. The bill will then be submitted to be assigned a Bill number. Once the bill has been assigned a number, each facility in the state should expect to receive a Parity packet with information to hand out to patients to support this bill.

Posted: October 15, 2008 - National Parity Bill - A historic bipartisan bill was introduced on Sept. 19 in the U.S. Senate that would require health insurance companies to provide meaningful coverage for prosthetic care.

Posted: September 26, 2008 - WSOPP Membership has voted unanimously to approve the WISCONSIN PARITY BILL! We are anxiously awaiting the assignment of a bill number for the WISCONSIN PARITY BILL. Informational packets will be forwarded to all members once a bill number is assigned. The packet will contain:
- Introduction letter
- Copy of the bill
- Poster for office
- Parity brochures
- CD ROM containing work documents for multiple printings
- Patient profiles to testify
- Petition forms
- Sample letter to allied health professionals
- Sample letter to state legislators/ phone/ e-mail

Posted: January 22, 2008 - Wisconsin Model Parity Bill - All individual and group health insurance policies providing covered services for hospital, medical or surgical expenses shall also provide coverage for prosthetic and orthotic devices that-are otherwise provided for and billed under the Federal Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) procedure coding system as directed by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
